So did everyone hear the great news? (. . . drum roll. . . ) The Dunn family from Auburn, Alabama will be wending their way out here to Utah the second week of June!!!!! (. . . thunderous applause, whistling, and general outbreaks of joy . . .) What are some fun things that we can do while they are here visiting? Please submit your nominations and suggestions now.

Thanks, Mom

Hooray! Mom, do you have a paper chain counting down the days yet? I have a suggestion for the week they get here--the second week in June. We could have a birthday party . . .
We could also do some outdoor stuff, like go to the zoo, go on a hike for all ages (Ensign Peak, maybe?), go to Emery, play wiffle ball in the backyard, etc. I'm so excited!

It might be fun to have a movie night outside, or go to a baseball game. Often the Buzz have a good family deal. It might be fun to go up to the Copper Mine or the Bean Museum (it might also be fun to go to the BYU Museum of Art and harass the guards there, ha ha.) Of course, it would also be fun to go back down to Thanksgiving Point since the AL Dunns missed it last time! It will probably be warm and I wouldn't mind watching the kids at the splash pad there while the adults stroll the gardens . . . However if the kids want to go to a splash pad there are two right by my house that are free.
Josie asks me EVERYDAY if Nate is coming today. We can't wait!

I know that everyone can't do everything (some have the lame excuse of "work"), but here are some more ideas. Everyone say what you would like to do the most, so that we can make plans if necessary:
1. Eccles Dinosaur Park in Ogden--they have life-sized dinosaurs there. We could ride trax and front-runner. $4 - $6
2. Picnic and playtime at Copperton Park (maybe after a visit to the Copper mine?)
3. Living Planet Aquarium. $6 - $8 (Sandy)
4. BYU Museum of Art, Church Museum of History and Art, Monte Bean Museum, or others.
5. Thanksgiving Point Dinosaur Museum. $12 - $12
6. Thanksgiving Point Gardens. (About $8 to $10)
7. Thanksgiving Point Farm. ($3.50)
8. Memory Grove picnic and hike.
9. S.L. City Cemetery --search for famous people's graves.
10. Lagoon. About $25 with discount coupon.
11. Celebrations, parades, etc. Town Days, 4th of July, etc.
12. Manti Pageant.
13. Manti Temple.
14. Other Temple visit.
15. Liberty Park and aviary. ($?)
16. Mountain hike and picnic.
17. What everyone else already said.
18. Other?
19. Birthday parties.
20. Dutch oven dinners.
21. Weeding the flower beds and/or garden. (Just kidding)

Melanie forgot one of her suggestions. A real Polynesian 1st birthday for baby Dan, complete with a pig. ;)
I think the kids would even like the Salt Lake City Library, they have a cool kids play area. Just a thought if already downtown for something.
Another easy hike that everyone could enjoy would be Battlecreek Falls in Pleasant Grove. The first waterfall is easy to get to, the second and third not so much. But the first one is the biggest.
I am up for whatever.

There is also a Chalk Festival at the Gateway June 13 & 14, Graham and I wanted to go. I have heard that it is a bunch of sidewalk artists who draw there. The kids might like to run through the fountain at Gateway as well.

We could setup a bunch of computers and play worms over the network! (Yesssssssssss!)

j/k I do think an "outdoor" activity would be fun. I'm up for anything, as long as I get to hold Rosie. ;)
